Works without signal

Download the Lake District map before you set off. Live location and captures run off your phone’s GPS, and your summits sync when you’re back in range.

Know each fell before you go

Each fell has its own page: the forecast for the top, a route with distance, height, difficulty and time, and directions to the start. You can even fly over the route in 3D.

Live capture at the summit

The map draws a 75 m ring around each summit. Walk into this zone, and the capture screen opens automatically. Once captured, that fell will be added into your bag.

  1. Plan it

    Pick a fell, check the forecast for the summit and download the map.

  2. Walk it

    Head up with the app in your pocket. It works without signal.

  3. Capture it

    Reach the top and capture it. It lands in your bag, and shares with your friends.

If you get into trouble, call 999 and ask for the police, then Mountain Rescue. Upfell shows your coordinates and how accurate they are, so you can read them out.

Upfell isn’t a navigation or safety device. Check the weather before you go, and turn back when the conditions tell you to.

What counts as a capture?

Being within 75 m of the summit with the app open.

Can I add fells I’ve already done?

Yes, tick them off by hand; they count towards your round but don’t earn Altitude Points.

Do I have to be on the leaderboard?

No. Turn it off in Edit Profile.

How do I delete my account?

Settings → Delete Account. Everything is removed.
